EMILY SCHULTZ reads from THE BLONDES, in conversation with TAMAR HALPERN

The Blondes (Thomas Dunne Books)

During a still autumn in New York City, a rabies-like illness spreads among blonde women, causing them to "rage out" and attack passersby. The epidemic shuts down New York where Hazel, a grad student who is pregnant and alone, tries to escape only to find the disease infecting women throughout North America. With echoes of White Noise and a biting, satiric wit, Emily Schutlz' novel is an examination of what happens in a world where beauty is deadly.

For tonight's reading, Emily will be joined by Tamar Halpern.
