About the Author

Thomas Richards, formerly an associate professor of English and American literature at Harvard University, is an independent college admissions consultant. He is the author of The Imperial Archive: Knowledge and the Fantasy of Empire and The Commodity Culture of Victorian England: Advertising and Spectacle, 1851-1914.
