The FOUR REINCARNATIONS Book Tour: LA Poets and Writers Read MAX RITVO

Please join us as we celebrate the life and work of Max Ritvo who passed away in August at the age of 25. Ritvo was an accomplished Los Angeles poet whose collection of poems, Four Reincarnations, has recently been published.

Joining us will be friends and collegues of Max's to read his poems. 

Frank Alvarez is a recent Mayapple Foundation fellow and graduate of the MFA Writing Progam at Columbia School of the Arts with a concentration in poetry. Originally from Westchester, New York, he currently lives in LA. 

L. A. Johnson is from California. She received her MFA from Columbia University and is currently pursuing her PhD in literature and creative writing from the University of Southern California, where she is a Provost’s Fellow. Her poems have recently appeared or are forthcoming in The American Poetry Review, The Southern ReviewThe Iowa ReviewMassachusetts Review, and other journals.

Callie Siskel is the author of Arctic Revival, selected by Elizabeth Alexander for a 2014 Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. Her poems appear in the Yale ReviewPoetry Northwest32 PoemsPassages North, and other journals. She lives in Los Angeles, where she is a Dornsife Doctoral Fellow in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California, and a poetry editor at The Los Angeles Review of Books.

Carol Muske-Dukes is the author of eight books of poems, four novels, two collections of essays. Her ninth book of poems, Blue Rose, is forthcoming from Penguin in 2018. She is a professor of English/Creative Writing at USC and former poet laureate of California. She has also written two plays, which have been given staged readings in NY recently.

Daniel Tiffany is the author of ten books of poetry and literary criticism, including his latest collection of poems, The Work-Shy (as part of the BLUNT RESEARCH GROUP), which will be published in the Wesleyan Poetry Series in December of 2016.  A recipient of the Chicago Review Poetry Prize and the Berlin Prize (awarded by the American Academy in Berlin), he teaches at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Ethan Kuperberg is a Peabody Award-winning writer and producer on the Amazon series Transparent. He was nominated for a Writer's Guild of America Award for Best Episodic Comedy for his season one episode "The Wilderness." He is also a regular humor contributor to the New Yorker.
