KATE SCHATZ and MIRIAM KLEIN STAHL present their new book RAD GIRLS CAN

Rad Girls Can (Ten Speed Press)

From the New York Times best-selling authors of Rad Women Worldwide and Rad American Women A-Z, comes a bold and brave collection of stories and art about inspiring and accomplished girls who have made positive impacts on the world before the age of 20.

You might know the stories of Malala Yousafzai, Anne Frank, Jazz Jennings, and Joan of Arc. But have you heard about Yusra Mardini, a Syrian refugee who swam a sinking boat to shore, saved twenty lives, then went on to compete as an Olympic swimmer? Or Trisha Prabhu, who invented an anti-cyberbullying app at age 13? Or Barbara Rose Johns, whose high school protest helped spark the civil rights movement?

In Rad Girls Can, you'll learn about a diverse group of young women who are living rad lives, whether excelling in male-dominated sports like boxing, rock climbing, or skateboarding; speaking out against injustice and discrimination; expressing themselves through dance, writing, and music; or advocating for girls around the world. Each profile is paired with the dynamic paper-cut art that made the authors' first two books New York Times best sellers. Featuring both contemporary and historical figures, Rad Girls Can offers hope, inspiration, and motivation to readers of all ages and genders.

Praise for Rad Girls Can

"In the current era of America, I don't know of any books more important to inspire all young girls (and old dads like me) to succeed. This book should be required reading for all elementary schools. Rad Girls Can continues the essential series of book and takes it to new heights."-W. Kamau Bell, Emmy-winning TV host and author

"The world belongs to young women. This book tells us who some of them are. Join them or get out of the way."-Daniel Handler, aka Lemony Snicket

"The Rad Women series just keeps getting better! The kids I’ve read this with are immediately engrossed—which I think is the most telling measure of a book. They flip back and forth through the pages wanting to know who each young person is, finding possibility in the stories of others both like themselves, and very different, from around the world."-Innosanto Nagara, author of A is for Activist and Counting on Community

“My daughters Brave and Hero are just learning to read. We choose a different Rad Girl to read about at night before bed. I love sending them off to dream limitless dreams of who they can be, and what they can do. Once again Kate and Miriam have given us deep inspiration and a powerful gift to share. Thank you for these incredible books about incredible women so needed in the world today."-Cree Summer, actor and singer
