LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS PRESENTS: PRESIDENTIAL POLITICS

Current Interest: Presidential Politics

To attend this virtual panel, part of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, register here. Books for the panel may be purchased below. Orders for Jean Guerrero's book Hatemonger and Stuart Stevens's It Was All a Lie will come with a book plate signed by the author (while supplies last). At present, we do not anticipate having signed copies or book plates available for Kurt Andersen; however, if that changes, we will update this page.

Kurt Andersen's latest book Evil Geniuses is the story of how our economy and society were re-engineered to serve big business and the well-to-do at the expense of everyone else. It's a New York Times bestseller, like its prize-winning companion volume Fantasyland (2017). In addition, he's the author of four critically acclaimed bestselling novels -- You Can't Spell America Without Me (2017), True Believers (2012), Heyday (2007) and Turn of the Century (1999). Andersen also co-created and hosted the Peabody Award-winning public radio program Studio 360, co-founded Spy magazine, and was a columnist for The New Yorker, New York and Time, as well as editor-in-chief of New York.

Jean Guerrero is an investigative journalist contributing to NPR, the PBS NewsHour and more. She is the author of Hatemonger: Stephen Miller, Donald Trump and the White Nationalist Agenda (HarperCollins). Her first book, Crux: A Cross-Border Memoir, won a PEN/FUSION Emerging Writers Prize. Her work has been published in Vanity Fair, Politico, The Nation, Wired, the New York Times and elsewhere.

Stuart Stevens is the author of seven previous books, and his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Esquire, and Outside, among other publications. He has written extensively for television shows, including Northern Exposure, Commander in Chief, and K Street. For twenty-five years, he was the lead strategist and media consultant for some of the nation's toughest political campaigns. He attended Colorado College; Pembroke College, Oxford; Middlebury College; and UCLA film school. He is a former fellow of the American Film Institute.
