WHAT BOOKS presents PAUL LIEBER, BILL MOHR as they read from their new books

Join us for an evening with two authors from What Books Press

“Interrupted by the Sea,” is Paul Lieber’s second collection of poetry. His first collection, “Chemical Tendencies” was a finalist in the MSR poetry contest. He also received an honorable mention in the Allen Ginsberg Contest. Twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Paul produces and hosts “Why Poetry” on KPFK radio in L.A. and Santa Barbara. Guests have included Poet Laureates, National Book Award Winners and many known and lesser-known poets. Paul’s poems have appeared in The Moth, N.Y. Quarterly, Patterson Review, Askew, Poemeleon, Alimentum, and many other journals and anthologies. Paul works as an actor and has performed on and off- Broadway and in numerous films and TV shows.

Bill Mohr is a professor in the Department of English at California State University, Long Beach and teaches 20 th century American literature, in addition to being a core member of the MFA faculty. The University of Iowa Press published HOLDOUTS: The Los Angeles Poetry Renaissance 1948-1992 in 2011. His collections of poems and spoken word recordings include Hidden Proofs, Penetralia, Vehemence, Bittersweet Kaleidoscope, and Pruebas Ocultas (Bonobos Editores, Mexico). His poems and creative prose have appeared in Antioch Review, Blue Mesa Review, Santa Monica Review, Sonora Review, and ZYZZYVA. His writing has been translated into Croatian, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish, and reprinted in over a dozen anthologies. What Books/The Glass Table Collective will publish his next collection, The Headwaters of Nirvana / Los Manantiales del Nirvanain October, 2018.
