I placed an order on your website before May 20. What is happening with my order?
If you placed your order prior to Wednesday, May 20, that order will be filled by our distribution partner, Ingram. They are processing orders about 4 to 5 days after receiving them. After that, USPS Media Mail takes 2 to 10 business days, and UPS Ground takes 1 to 5 business days. Both delivery services have had some delays with package delivery.
 
We do not have tracking information or order status information on these orders, but if you haven't received your order and it's been more than 10 business days (for UPS Ground) or 15 business days (for USPS Media Mail), you can contact us at orders@skylightbooks.com and we'll investigate for you. Please keep in mind some orders split and ship from multiple warehouses, and some orders contain backordered or not-yet-published books that will ship separately when they become available.
 
I placed an order on your website on May 20 or later. What happens now?
If you placed your order Wednesday, May 20, or later, we'll be processing your order from the store. Please note that in-stock information on our website (such as "on our shelves now") is not updated in real time, and may not be accurate, if the number of pending orders exceeds the quantity on our shelves. If your book is not in stock, we'll get it in for you if it's available. If it's not available (due to being out of print, for example), we'll notify you.
 
With a small team practicing social distancing, and a high volume of website orders, we may fall behind on order fulfillment. If you've chosen Curbside Pickup as your delivery method, please wait to receive a notification that your order is ready before coming to the store. Please also keep in mind that we'll only be doing curbside pickup between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
 
If you opted to have your order shipped, you'll receive a shipment notification with tracking information, sent to the email address used to place the order, once it ships.
 
Can I pay by gift card or use my Friends with Benefits membership discount on my online order?
Yes to both! We had both these features turned off from the beginning of the safer at home order until May 20, but now both are back on!
 
You can apply your member discount in the cart. It wont update the book prices automatically -- we do that manually before we charge your card.
 
When paying with a gift card, our website won't be able to verify the amount on your gift card, so it also asks for a credit card, so we can charge your card for any balance not covered by the gift card.
