What makes a great novel? When the main character is caught between madness and genius. A terrifying poetic love story with an unreliable narrator. A better form of a historical novel. One of the best novels on obsession. Love has no boundaries. UK version is the best! It is his first book. Very Western Europeanesque. ;-)
A very chilling and comprehensive account how, mentally normal men from a police battlion became, viciuos and cold blooded killers. One of the best books on the timeframe of the holocaust. Brownstein does a fantastic job dismatiling ever bit of research. Highly recommend for a history buff.
A compelling and gruesome look into the Baltimore homicide department in 1988. A sorta spinoff for the Emmy-award winning show The Wire. Plus Philippe Squarzoni’s illustrations are dark and deplorable, which are perfect for this subject. Not for the faint of heart.
I became a follower the first time I saw him. Doc is one of the best and funniest game streamers out there. He is also a great person to learn from. Doc’s character is as original as they come. Reminds me of an in-character Stephen Colbert on the Jon Stewart show. This book saved the book business. Please enjoy this book with a carne asada burrito con queso. Raulll!!
This was recommended by one of my coworkers. It's also my first introduction to Bell Hooks. Wish i could have read this as a teen. My favorite part of this book is that it takes a deep dive into the stereotypical performance of masculinity that many men strive to be, without blaming either sex. Very relevant today.
I loved this book as a child. I would spend countless hours looking at every detail. Fantastic illustration of various types of homes, plus a vivid and whimsical tale. Highly recommended for children who are artists.
I had so much fun reading this. Best part of this book is that Tom Segura has this amazing ability to express himself without any restraints. Worst part of this book is, it's not long enough. His interaction with celebrities is some of the funniest shit I’ve read in a long time. Just make sure you don't read it in public, People will think you're nuts. When will my "Latina" mother get cancelled?! Saludos Charo!
What book would you take to a deserted island? Shit, The Godfather! Especially this edition. The Introduction alone by Francis Ford Coppola is worth the price of gold! This was my second read through, and I’ll be honest this was as emotional as the first time. Why is it better than the movie? A ton of important backstory.
I'll been a buff of my mans for a bit. A multitalent writer, actor, chef, athlete, humanitirian, painter, designer, model and musician. A small and inspiritional glimpse into the life and habits of Action Bronson.
My intention is never to read Joy Harjo, Nor do i enjoy poetry. But I do find myself gyrating toward Harjo's master works. Especially when I am in a foul mood or depressed, that's when the appetite for Joy Harjo finally can't keep itself at bay within me.
What's better than a hot drink during the cold season? A Russian novel!
A love story gone haywire. Perfect for those who want to learn how to read manga.
I've been a bookseller for 10 plus years, and I do I believe this was my third Self Improvement/ Self-help book I've read.
Don't buy it! Don't read it! Took me a whole year to complete! Yes, A whole year! And I hope it burns in Hell!

This a biography of what life was like during the 60's in Spanish Harlem Nueva York.
Not only a perfect cookbook, but also an instrumental book on preparing seafood. A fantastic gift for the pescatarian in the family. Josh Niland continues to amaze us with his vast knowledge on scale-to-tail sustainability. Make innards great again!
A very grotesque and brilliant interpretation of life at the start of COVID. Hanselmann is a supreme writer and has created some of the most obscure, lovable, and wacky characters. Hanselmann has truly adapted and refined his illustration style.
These essays were part of a collaboration with the amazing photographer Richard Avedon. James Baldwin is a master at writing about race and class struggles in America. Worst part of these essays is how relevant they are to today. The last essay was the most important to me. He mentions the alienation that we inflict as humans on each other, plus the damage that we are causing to the environment.
This is more than a memoir. This felt more like a theory on Asian American relationships not only with America but also with other people of color. I also felt an emotional and educational connection with the author due to my struggles with the English language.
It's been such a long time since I've read a first paragraph of a novel and fallen "head over heels" over it. Maggie O'Farrell does a extraordinary job in giving us one of the most visual descriptions of what life was like during the 16th century. A gorgeous, dark and emotional tale of William Shakespeare and his family. I personally feel that some of these characters will forever hold a special space in my mind.
Elena Ferrante never disappointes. What's better than drama? Family drama!. Seems more like a coming of age story. Mamma mia! I've heard that Marisa Tomei narrates this book in audio. now thats a Winner in my "Book".
Wow! Quel régal inattendu. Sera différemment lire ceci plusieurs fois. Une chronique séduisante de son été passé à travailler dans une usine de papier. Seul l'art vaut le prix.

I have always been intrigued by the cover, especially after watching A Shape of Water. No connection. Fastest book I"ve read this year. It only took me five days to complete it! A classic love story between a woman and a amphibian. A beauty and the beast esq. Plot seems secondary of importance to the bizarre and mesmerizing dialogue. Voted as a top 20 American novel by the British Book Marketing Council.
One of the best manga books I've read since completing the Buddha series by the masterful Osuma Tezuka. A beautiful crafted tale of a Japanese family after WW2. This is a great and easy treat for people interested in learning how to read back to front manga.

Paul Rabagliati never disappoints. His drawings are so beautiful, plus his writing is hilarious and neurotic. A very emotional and honest look into his daily life.
